Live Traffic NSW has published a traffic update for Newcastle Road Jesmond Newcastle Inner City Bypass, New South Wales.
Road conditions
Changed traffic conditions will be in place at Jesmond to install the final wearing course layer of asphalt as work progresses towards completion on the Newcastle Inner City Bypass - Rankin Park to Jesmond project. Work will be carried out for up to nine nights across three weeks, weather permitting, between 7pm and 5am, Sunday to Thursday. Week three - Sunday 1 and Monday 2 November The final section of wearing course will be placed at the Blue Gum Road intersection on Newcastle Road westbound lanes. There will be lane closures along Newcastle Road in both directions. The Chalmers Road and Illoura Street intersections on Newcastle Road will be closed, with right hand turns at the Newcastle and Blue Gum roads intersection also closed. Detours will be in place. OSOM operators are advised the project operates on UHF channel 57 at Jesmond. More information on this work can be found on the project website here. Light vehicles and buses will be detoured via Mordue Parade and Drury Street for access to and from Blue Gum Road. Vehicles travelling to Chalmers Road and Illoura Street to and from Newcastle Road will be detoured via Victory Parade.
